TENSOR’s 5th Consortium Meeting – Lisbon

TENSOR’s consortium partners have once again reunited in a face to face meeting in the breathtaking landscape of Portugal’s capital! Portugal’s Ministry of Justice has hosted the 2-day meeting event in their premises.

As TENSOR’s lifecycle has reached the mid of its last 3rd year, the consortium partners unveiled the latest updates and findings reflecting the quite long journey filled with innovative research efforts until this date, with an eye dedicated into paving the path for the final marathon!

In the beautiful background of Lisbon city, on July 3rd, all Work Packages and the respected tasks, provided all the updates and refined the actions plan until the end of TENSOR on December.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The joint forces of our Consortium focused on addressing challenges related to biometric data protection and interoperability with cross-border systems. Moreover, consortium presented key topics such as informed consent, data protection and privacy, the responsible use of AI and biometrics, and ethical considerations related to end-user involvement in the pilots. Special attention was given to interaction with AI and associated risks.

The 2nd day was indeed a special treat focusing on a hands-on live experience our our LEA participants showcasing the capabilities of the TENSOR platform. Based on the training contents, the participants were encouraged to directly interact with the platform:

  1. Find and search for biometric data (local and cross-border)
  2. Send cross-border requests
  3. Handle responses
  4. Test the data owner role

The tech team was on heat ensuring seamless experience while also leveraging yet another opportunity to further assess improvement potential and efficiency by extracting fruitful feedback from PJ pilot participants.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All collaborative efforts are reinforcing the innovation efforts of TENSOR team and strengthens the bonds on delivering a secure biometrics exchange ecosystem aiming to assist LEAs in suspect identification around Europe.
